Good News Wednesday

Last month, real life hero, Colorado teenager, Jarell Brooks put his life on the line during the dreadful mass shooting at a screening of “The Dark Knight Rises”.

In the chaos of terrified people scrambling from the gunman he came across a young mother struggling to get her two children to safety. He instantly made the choice to help the woman and as he shepherded them before him, he was shot in the leg. The wound took him down, but he got right back up and, on one leg, pushed the injured mother and her children to an exit door.

I am profoundly grateful that such great goodness can be found in the world. He is an inspiration.

On another happy note, my friend and writing buddy, Helene Young, won another R*BY at the Romance Writers of Australia convention on the Gold Coast this past weekend for her  book, ‘Shattered Sky’, the second in her Border Watch series.

Congratulations, Helene. Good to see all that hard work paying off. 🙂
